Clark Services Group is a growing commercial mechanical services company specializing in healthcare facilities, hospitals, and commercial kitchen exhaust systems across the Mid-Atlantic region.

We are seeking a Part-Time Mechanical Estimator to conduct field surveys and prepare technical proposals for mechanical service work.

This role is ideal for an experienced mechanical professional looking for flexible hours, meaningful work, and a reduced schedule.

Flexible Schedule

This role is designed to offer significant flexibility.

Typical workload averages 15–25 hours per week, depending on incoming opportunities.

Most proposals are expected to be completed within three business days, but the work may be completed at any time within that window.

Example structure:

• Field survey (typically 2–3 hours)
• Proposal preparation completed remotely within 3 business days

Some site visits may occur in the evening after facility operations slow down, especially for hospital kitchens and mechanical rooms.

No weekends. No holiday work.

 

 

Core Responsibilities

Field Surveys (Field surveys typically take approximately 2–3 hours.)

• Visit commercial facilities to assess mechanical systems

• Evaluate kitchen exhaust systems, ductwork, AHUs, and mechanical spaces

• Take measurements, photos, and document system conditions

• Identify access limitations and service requirements

• Translate field observations into clear scope for proposals

Proposal Development

• Prepare professional proposals using company templates

• Develop labor estimates and scope language

• Interpret mechanical drawings and equipment layouts when available

• Coordinate with company leadership on pricing and scope

• Deliver completed proposals within the expected turnaround window

Occasional Shop Coordination

• Assist with equipment and consumable inventory planning

• Provide input on materials required for upcoming work

• Ensure estimating reflects real-world equipment and material availability

 

 

Ideal Background

• Mechanical Engineering degree
  OR

• 5+ years experience in commercial HVAC estimating, mechanical project management, or MEP services
  OR

• 7+ years hands-on commercial mechanical experience (HVAC, ductwork, exhaust systems, or facilities maintenance)

Compensation

$50 – $80 per hour, depending on experience.

Typical annual earnings range:

$40,000 – $104,000 equivalent depending on hours worked.

Flexible hybrid schedule.

Car allowance available depending on field work frequency.
